                                                                  1 Start with a single Bosun’s whistle lanyard

                                                                     knot (see page 240), tied loosely. It will
                                                                     be doubled by following each of the

                                                                     standing parts into the knot.
                                                                 2 One at a time follow in from each
                                                                     standing part, each to go about half way
                                                                     round the original knot.

                                                                 3 Before completing the cycle of the
                                                                     original knot, form the knot loosely into
                                                                     shape and then put the working ends up

                                                                     through the center of the knot. The
                                                                     working ends should pass round and pull
                                                                     in the standing parts.

                                                                 4 Pull tight and work out the slack.
                                                                 5 The finished knot.
