                    The Application Process – How to Get Started





               Application Process:

               Each potential student is required to complete an online application and pay the $40 application fee.
                 1.  Upload copies of transcripts from all previously attended institutions. Copies are required from
                     all colleges and/or universities you have attended, regardless of grade point average or number
                     of hours completed.

                 2.  Complete an official Recommendation Form to  receive a link that  you  can send to  your
                     recommenders to submit their statements. Recommendations will only be considered official
                     when received from this link. Recommenders must fill out a separate form and write a short
                     letter as to why you should be accepted.

                 3.  Submit your application electronically or mail paper documents in one packet to:

                     Office of Graduate Admissions
                     Bowie State University
                     14000 Jericho Park Road
                     Bowie, MD 20715

               NOTE: Do not mail copies of documents if you have successfully submitted your application
               online. Faxes of transcripts and test scores will not be accepted.

               For International Students:


                 1.  Meet the immigration requirements for an F-1 Visa. Applicants must be cleared by the
                     International Student Advisor before an I-20 will be mailed.

                 2.  Submit official transcript(s).

                      •  Foreign Transcripts:  If the official transcript is in a language other than English, the
                         applicant must submit a certified English translation of the transcript. All international
                         applicants must also submit an evaluation of their foreign transcripts showing the U.S.
                         equivalent of any coursework taken outside of the United States. The University accepts
                         evaluations from the following organizations:

                      •  World Education Services

                      •  Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc.
