Fenghe Population

In recent years, rapid development of commercial and industrial ,
Park coupled with influx of population into the city has made Taoyuan
the youngest city among the six municipalities. Residential
Taoyuan City development in urban planning in Taoyuan has almost been
saturated (the rate of land use is over 80%), so the public space
and public facilities in the city need to offer sufficient mechanism
and services to satisfy the increasing user group.Particularly in
Taoyuan, the need of children’s playgrounds cannot definitely be
ignored.

Develop the Park’s Potential, Discovering the

Problems

Fenghe Park, situated in Taoyuan Zhonglu Zone Expropriation
Area, is an urban disaster prevention park. Its original facilities
include a plazas, detention pond recreational area, irrigation
waterway turned ecological pond, etc. to provide the citizens
with a public space for recreation and environmental education.
However, due to dull space design, insufficient facilities, ineffectual
water purification in the ecological pond, etc., though the park
enjoys a vast area, it has a low rate of use, which is really a pity
to an urban park with such a vast area. Therefore, Taoyuan
City Government has promoted “Fenghe Park Water Quality
Improvement and Facilities Regeneration Plan,” hoping to create
an appealing location for recreation and environmental education
to improve the citizens’ willingness to use.
