           CITY OF TAMPA BLACK HISTORY COMMITTEE PRESENTS $16,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS
The City of Tampa Black History Committee presented $16,000 in scholarships to the 2018 graduates. Over the past 21 years, the group has awarded $201,000 in scholarships. The Awards Ceremony was held at the Holiday Inn Express, West- shore Blvd. This year’s theme was: “Reflecting On Our Past, Moving Towards TheFuture.” Those in attendance were, from the left: TR Coverson, Mayor’s African American Advisory Committee (MAAAC); Tiffann Isley, MAAAC Education Chair; Regina Lock-DePass, City Of Tampa Black History Committee (COTBHC) member; Pierre Alsint, Bobby Bowden Scholar- ship Recipient; Jamie Walker, Presidential Scholarship Recipient; Tyler Watkins, Presidential and MAAAC Scholarship Re- cipient; Celeste Gibbons-Peoples, COTBHC President; Freddy Barton, Keynote Speaker; Ebone Cruz, Mistress of Ceremonies; Adrian Mitchell, Janett S.
