Photography and Videography
The following rules/guidelines indicate what is permissible when capturing content on the festival grounds,
and apply to both partners and patrons. These guidelines are not all inclusive. AFROPUNK staff/security
reserve the right to ask any person to leave if it is determined that their behavior is in violation of our photo
policy or is disruptive to the festival.
● Props and special lighting devices (such as off-camera flashes) are not permitted.
● Professional/Commercial photography and filming for purposes of theatrical release, industrial use,
advertising, and public service announcements is not permitted.
● Cameras with long and/or detachable lenses are not allowed.
● Mirrorless Cameras are not allowed.
● Formal and commissioned personal photography and videography are not permitted.
● Use of drones is not permitted.
Those who wish to utilize professional photography/ videography equipment must be issued an
AFROPUNK Official Media credential. To request, please send full name and company association to Ryan
Cunningham, ryanc@biz3.net no later than Monday August 19, 2019. These credentials are extremely
limited, therefore placing a request does not guarantee a Media credential will be issued to you or your
team.
Recreational mobile phone photography and videography is allowable. This includes the use of one
hand-held camera for personal use only.
