A Year of Learning and
Celebrating Family

2018 has been a memorable year for
SPi Global India. Welcoming a new
account, new aSPirants, and holding
momentous events, we continue to
strengthen not only our position as
a global leader but also our bond as
a family, as evidenced by the team’s
notable highlights.
Global Footprint
Content Solutions Centre (CSC) opened
its office in DLF, Chennai on February
2018 and in Noida, Delhi on June 2018.
This is in addition to the CSC offices in
CTS premises in Sholinganallur,
Chennai.
A Townhall meeting with SVP for
Global Operations Dhaneesh Kumar
and VP for Human Resources Manoj
Menon was arranged on May 2018 at
Scope e-Knowledge, to announce their
inclusion to the SPi Global family. A
short presentation was shown,
followed by a heart-warming welcome
by CPO Marie Ampeloquio.

ASPiRE University
ASPiRE University strives to boost the aptitude of employees
and fine-tune their skills through trainings that improve
employee competencies and bring out their strengths. Not
only do these trainings make employees successful in their
respective roles, but they also create better results for the
whole organization.
Apart from the usual ASPiRE medal programs, 2018 saw a
handful of new trainings, including “Build the Brand called
YOU”, “Influencer”, “Innovation Boot Camp”, “Managing
Effective Meetings”, “Corporate Culture for New Hires” (Wiley),
and ”A communication Workshop for IT”. All were well
attended and enthusiastically recieved by the aSPirants.
Celebrations and Employee Engagement
Pongal, or the Tamil Harvest Festival, was celebrated in
January in Chennai and Pondicherry. Employees participated
in competitions, such as Rangoli, which uses flowers, grains,
salt and colour powders; Mehendi, a form of a body art;
sugarcane eating competition; and Uri Adithal, wherein a
person hits a pot using a stick with eyes covered. Employees
wore colorful traditional dresses, which was also a good way
to kick-start engagement events for the year.
February saw our own Valentine’s Day celebration with
employees dressed in red and blue. An auction sale of plush
toys and goodies was held, and proceeds were donated
to charity.
As a foodie month for SPi Global India, employees set up food
stalls in March. Sale proceeds were also donated to charity.
The SPi Cricket Tournament 2018 kick-started Pondicherry’s
Cricket Season last July. Around 14 in-house teams battled
it out in matches that span three months. During the finals,
copyediting team Unfit 15’s took home the trophy after an
exhilarating game with the Fighters (Wiley group).
To celebrate the successful completion of CSC operations this
year, a small get-together was organized at the CSC offices in
DLF, Chennai in August. All CSC employees participated.
October’s Festival of Navratri is marked by lights, joy, and
festivity. SPi Global offices across India were transformed into
bright and vibrant spaces, as employees decorated their work
stations with colorful decors.
