6.5 Rating of Performance Factors
evaluates “how”
The performance factors section the employee conducted him/herself to perform
and achieve their pre-established KPAs as indicated under the KPA section. The performance
statements are pre-set and are not to be changed. Before the performance factors are assessed,
please check that the factors correspond with the employee's occupational group (i.e. management or
non-management). Please read the instructions carefully before you begin. Click on the "Rating" cell
to view the drop-down list. Read each statement carefully and choose the one most appropriate
statement for the particular performance factor. Where the employee achieved a low rating for a
particular performance factor, the development required is to be discussed and included in the
employee’s competency development plan. Provide examples or reasons for giving the specific rating.
Continue the same way with each statement until you are finished. There are ten factors in total for
non-management occupations, and five factors for the management occupational group.
The summary table at the bottom of the worksheet shows you the scores obtained for each
performance factor, as well as the final score for this section of the EPMDS. When you're done, click the
"Next" button.
