Competency

             Modeling

              Competencies are observable and

measurable behaviors of the incumbent in

                  the performance of their job.

              Competency-based job modeling is a means
of describing the job in terms of measurable,

                  observable, behavioral competencies that

an employee doing that job must exhibit.

 A competency model incorporates a set of
                  competencies that are necessary for

effective performance, and it typically covers

a broader range of jobs than traditional job

                  analysis.
