ALLEVIATING HUNGER
Despite the extremely cold and rainy weather on
May 7, 22 dedicated Lions joined the Hunger
Committee to conduct a feeding project at the VFW
Post 5298 in Queens.
Participating clubs included Stuy Park with Leo
Brianna Jones, Metropolis, Crown Heights,
Midwood, Rising Stars, Bedford Stuyvesant,
Richmond Hill South Ozone Park and Laurelton.
Congratulations to Ms. Janiqua Wilson ( a volunteer Lions are ready to serve
from Belle Citadel Cotillion of Brooklyn) who was
immediately recruited by Lion Sharon Elcock (Stuy
Park), to join District 20-K1 Leos. “Thank you”,
Lion Sharon.
Due to the inclement weather, 200 containers of
food were left over and later distributed to several
shelters in Brooklyn.
Lion Ann Alleyne (Crown Heights), Hunger
Committee Chair sincerely thanks Lion Ormond
Lions and Leos _team and serve from the heart
Brathwaite for the uplifting invocation. The team
appreciates the support from all the dedicated Lions
who either showed up on the rainy cold day or gave
monetary and/or food donations.
District 20-K1 Lions are always willing and ready to
“team together” and SERVE FROM THE HEART,
regardless of the challenges.
