SERVES IN THE

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

We “teamed” with Mujeres Dejando un Legado

(Ladies Leaving a Legacy), which is a project
founded by Lion Betty Cruz, (Queens United Lions
Club). With some government funding,, food is
provided for the elderly and children in Palave, The
Dominican Republic. In addition, a safe
community space is made available for age-
appropriate fellowship and fun on weekdays.

Club members also distributed clothing and hygiene
products in a community where the number of AIDS
patients remains high and school age children are
being raised by either single parents or their
grandparents. In addition, a donated hospital bed
was shipped to Our Lady of Carmen Senior Care
Home in The Dominican Republic.

We are looking forward to working with other Lions
Clubs to continue this mission of serving those in
need.
