District Governor Anthony Cochran (Brooklyn Bedford Stuyvesant Lions Club) led a group of about 50 Lion volunteers
including Lion President William Williams to serve at this event. Others on the team included Mr. James Durrah,
Coordinator for Fred Jones Memorial Bicycle Ride, Ms. Debra Jones, Event Director and Ms. Janet Handel 10K Race
Project Manager ( Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation,) and Mr. Wadell English (FDNY).

The atmosphere around Restoration Plaza was charged with music and excitement as runners from around the world
assembled with their supporters, to participate in this event.

Covid-19 vaccinations were available as well as giveaways from community partners, including The Central Brooklyn
Food Coop., Grow NYC, Citi Bike, Fred Jones Memorial Bike Ride (FREE), Kids Learn to Ride Class (FREE), and more.
