METROPOLIS LIONS AND LEOS ROCK
On Saturday, March 12 , 2022, Brooklyn Metropolis Lions, Leos, Omegas and Alpha dressed in their winter gear
th
and braved the stormy weather to serve! At the Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC) the youths were
excited to collaborate with Phillip Howard and assist him with the “Grab & Go” meals for the seniors. The 4 Leos,
3 Omegas and 1 Alpha along with 2 Lions from the Metropolis Lions Club, served over eighty seniors with hot
meals, healthy salads and fresh fruit.
Where There Is A Need, There Is A Lion!
At another location, four members of our club along with other members of District 20K1, helped prepare and serve
residents of Vandalia Older Adult Center with hot delicious baked chicken, salmon, rice, salads, fresh fruit, juices and
dessert, in the comfort of a warm building. Over 60 residents were delighted to be seated and served by the Lions.
In adherence to the Covid-19 protocols, Lions took the opportunity to safely chat, mingle and dance with the seniors
to the entertaining music played. Lion President Annette Brathwaite. To add to the fun, she was challenged by a senior
on the dance floor, “to go down low and stick”. Guess What? The senior won. (hahaha)
It was a warm feeling to serve in the cold stormy weather! Service from the heart!
