DONATES WRITING TABLETS

Many of us learned to write on slates/tablets with chalk. When this medium was replaced with notebooks and pencils,
the constant erasing of errors resulted in sloppy work and even torn pages. A newly inducted member, Lion Phillip
Wright recognized the “need” to assist the kindergarten students at Plaisance Nursery School in Guyana, his native
country.

He purchased 20 LCD Writing Tablets and donated them to the school. On January 20, 2022, Lion President Ann
Alleyne made the presentation during her visit to Guyana. The students were very excited and began working on their
LCD Writing Tablets immediately.

During Lion Ann’s visit, she was advised by the staff that there was a total of 60 kindergarteners in the school.
Therefore, 40 students did not receive a tablet. Lions Dorothy Sylvester, Michael Yansen and Phillip Wright purchased the
additional 40 tablets and batteries. On February 22, 2022, Lion Phillip Wright made the trip to Guyana to present the
additional 40 LCD Writing Tablets.

During Lion Phillip’s visit, the students were dressed in costumes as they were participating in their annual Mashramani
(Carnival), celebrating Guyana’s 52 Republic Anniversary. Lion Phillip was presented with a framed “Thank You” Letter to
