WELCOME HOME, IPIP DOUGLAS X. ALEXANDER
MD20 Welcomes IPIP Doug Home
Lions of MD 20 hosted and toasted IPIP Douglas X. Alexander
after a year of successful “service from the heart”. In addition
to the large representation from District 20-K1, supporters from
20-N, 20-K2, 20-S, 20-R1, 20-O, 20-E1, and MD-23 Lions of
Connecticut also attended.
As the Chief Executive Officer of Lions Clubs International and its
1.4 million volunteers, he travelled around the world promoting
Lionism. And now, he was home!
Welcome Home Program
The spectacular celebration was held on August 14, 2022 at
Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Convention Center in Tarrytown, NY.
During the reception there was a great photo montage that
showcased IPIP Doug’s year as International President. Everyone
enjoyed the music, dancing, and dining on a delicious buffet
lunch with our IPIP Doug.
One of the features after lunch was a fantastic presentation from
LCI, of IPIP Doug’s End of Year Presidential happenings.
Another heartwarming highlight was the announcement of the IPIP Doug with Welcome Home Committee
beneficiaries of MD20’s gift to IPIP Doug. The Terry Alexander
Scholarship Fund at Stony Brook University and The Bedford-
Stuyvesant Volunteer Ambulance Corp are the recipients of these
funds.
A big hit that was not on the program – a photo op with IPIP
Doug. Long lines.
Many Lions in attendance were from Districts: 20-K1, 20-N, 20-
K2, 20-S, 20-R1, 20-O, 20-E1, and MD-23 Lions of Connecticut.
