FIRST RESPONDERS “BOX OUT” BULLYING!
Members of First Responders Lions Club attended Cops & Kids Boxing Gym in Brooklyn to speak with the youth.
Lions NYPD Detectives Stacey Robinson, James Tillman, Francis Ainoo, Teriq Grant were accompanied by Charter President Dimple
Willabus. They were greeted by the Founder of Cops & Kids, Retired NYPD Sergeant Pat Russo. He gave a tour of the state of the art
boxing gym which is located in the basement of Flatbush Gardens Housing complex.
The boxing gym is open to the youth in the community who express an interest in working out and train to box for free!
First Responders Lions spoke with the youth regarding their individual experiences as a young person and their path to becoming
police officers.
Additionally, the Lions explained the importance of staying focused in school, making constructive decisions about their future, selecting
friends wisely. They were urged to utilize every opportunity to stay fit, and also build a network of long standing relationships with
community stakeholders.
The visit could not be complete without the Lions testing out some of the equipment from the facility!
Mentors Matter and First Responders Lions are great mentors!
