Chayei Adam - K’lal 145 - Laws of Yom Kippur

]3[ On Yom Kippur, one is liable for doing any melacha for which he would be
liable for on Shabbos. The same applies to anything which is forbidden on
Shabbos but he is nevertheless exempt. The difference is that one who
intentionally [does a melacha] on Shabbos is liable for death by stoning, and on
Yom Kippur, [he is liable for] kareis, as it says “[you shall not do] any melacha …

Shabbos may not be moved on Yom Kippur, and just like one must make an eiruv
chatzeiros and an eiruv techumin on Shabbos, he must do so for Yom Kippur [as
              well]. 9

                                                                        11

must eat to be liable] is the size of a large date, which is slightly less than a
k’beitza (the volume of an average egg). This shiur is the same for everyone,
                                                                     12

this shiur was given as a halacha l’Moshe mi’Sinai, and that it is different than any
other measurement of the Torah; regarding any Torah prohibition such as cheilev
or blood or any other food for which one could incur kareis, the shiur is a k’zayis.
Yet, regarding Yom Kippur, since the Torah does not write that eating [is
forbidden] but rather that speaks about not eating as affliction, as it says “who
doesn’t afflict”, Chazal understand that less than the size of a date does not settle
