                                                                              Control through Dependency
largely ignorant of the violent methods their leaders are deploying elsewhere. And as set
out in the Iron Law of Oligarchy, the Empire gradually falls under the shadow of oligarchic
            groups.

Preceding the fall of the Roman Empire was a long period dominated by 2 opposing
political factions. The oligarchs whose self-interest drove them to go to any lengths to

maintain Emperor rule, and the Republicans who wanted a more 'popular' form of
government. Constant division at its heart sapped the virility of the Roman Empire. As it

does with each and every Empire.

Anyone who has some knowledge of the Roman Empire will readily identify with the
            modern-day USA.

Every generation living today inside the USA has lived during a period when the USA
was the dominant nation that all other countries had to do business with. And on USA

            terms.

This is no longer so. But the mindset of many American people is based on the
expectations that flourished during the period of USA dominance.

The USA has not prepared its people for the change of world economic order that has

been underway for several decades. As a consequence, USA domestic politics, and in the
same way its foreign policy, is dominated by domestic ‘power groups’ that will not allow

            the USA to regenerate itself.

The ever-increasingly powerful American oligarchs who are the puppet-masters of
the Republican Party and much else have no intention of changing.

The large percent of ordinary Americans who have been sold the MAGA (Make

America Great Again) message associate it with 'bringing back jobs' to continental USA.
That dream can never be fulfilled.

During the last decade, a few global companies have moved their manufacture plants
out of Vietnam and into East Africa. One of the biggest reasons for this? The wages for

skilled labour in countries like Ethiopia can be as little as 30% of the going rate in Vietnam.

If the USA cannot compete with the lower wage rates in Vietnam, what hope of competing
with the likes of East Africa!
