Moderator:
Tom Gillingham, Totalis
Tom is a 27-year veteran in the commercial specialty P&C program arena, with
experience working at both carriers and program administrators. Tom is currently
President at Totalis Program Underwriters, a brand that includes 20 distinct
programs representing $950 million in annual gross written premiums. Prior to
Totalis, Tom owned and operated EverGuard Insurance Services, Inc., a program
administrator specializing in the restaurant, bar and tavern industry. Prior to
that, Tom was the CEO and owner of another program administrator, Gillingham
& Associates, Inc., the leading underwriter of outdoor recreation and hospitality
businesses in the US. Tom sold Gillingham & Associates to Philadelphia Insurance
Company in 2008 and remained on as president until 2010 to successfully oversee
a smooth transition of the business. Tom graduated from Baylor University in
1997, where he studied marketing and risk management. He is Advisory Board President of the Target
Markets Program Administrators Association and has served in an advisory board capacity for philanthropic
organizations and for the Colorado chapter of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).

Matt Petka, Guy Carpenter
Matt runs the Dallas branch for Guy Carpenter. He also leads their US Program & MGA practice, GC Access,
a fully integrated bespoke service for clients across business planning, program carrier selection, capital
advisory, and modeling support. The practice consists of 50+ colleagues in North America, Canada, and the UK
and works closely with the firm’s Global Strategic Advisory and InsurTech Center of Excellence teams.
Matt brings over 22 years of broking experience to the role. He joined Guy Carpenter in 2021 as a Managing
Director and prior to this, was an Executive Vice President at Willis Re, focusing on MGA and regional clients.
Matt worked at Willis for 15 years and, before that, worked at Collins.
Matt received a Bachelor of Science in Economics with Financial Applications from Southern Methodist
University.
