TECH-A ALTERNATOR AUDIT OUTLINE
Some sections will be redundant from the previous audits to confirm skills. The panel and grades will
grade each section will be discussed during the completion of the examination.
NOTE: A score of 2.5 is required for level certification. Tech A must present extreme professionalism,
writing and verbal skills and show the skills required to lead a project.
• MYPLANT
o log into myPlant remote
o save current parameters
o use diagnostic workbench to trend issue
• GENERATOR CONTROLS
o Replace AVR
o Load software onto AVR or adjust to proper settings per OEM requirements
o Connect to different components
o Copy software and parameters from components for archiving
• PERFORM TASKS
o Investigate component failure
o Diagnose component
o Perform generator cleaning
o Troubleshoot simple circuit
o Diagnose AVR/PFC glitch
o Perform and correct alignment
o Collect data
• COMMUNICATIONS
o Continually keep panel up to date with progress
o Explain data collected
o Explain to panel issue that leads to failure
• DOCUMENTATION
o Finalize project documentation
o Explain documentation to panel
o Submit documentation to management
o Document potential work to quote
