P. 54
Engine Start-Up and Engine Run-In
• Start and run the engine per the Run-In TI. This covers how long the engine needs to
idle and how long to run at the listed load steps while maintaining a certain level of
NOx.
• All engine readings shall be monitored until the Run-In procedure is performed;
specifically, oil pressure and temperature, cylinder temperatures, knocking and valve
noise.
• All personnel on site must not go near the engine until the Run-In is finished in case
of a catastrophic failure.
• Once the engine Run-In is complete set the Leanox curve and take print outs from
the analyzer.
• Once the engine Run-In is complete and Leanox is set all readings from the Overhaul
Data Sheet must be taken. A final inspection of the engine is made for leaks,
abnormal noises, vibrations etc.
Post Overhaul Documentation
Turning in Paperwork
• A copy of the Overhaul Data Sheet will be emailed to the office and the customer.
• A copy of all service orders will be emailed to the customer.
Technical Documents and Maintenance Schedules
Jenbacher documents are constantly being updated, added, deleted etc. so having a list of all applicable
documents for an overhaul isn’t practical. The lead technician in conjunction with the office shall review
the correct maintenance schedule for the engine being overhauled to determine what maintenance tasks
are to be performed. Along with that, all other technical documents for that engine type, task etc. are to
be reviewed and followed.
Ensure all techs have downloaded the Jenbacher Reader application and all relative FSMs have been
downloaded for use. For complete instructions on how to download and use the Jenbacher Reader, refer
to the Jenbacher reader guide.
