The majority of the way people shop/hunt/explore is universal, timeless and rooted in a million
years of evolution [we use our System-1 fast, instinctive, intuitive and emotional brain rather
than our System-2 slow, analytical and rational brain]. We don’t weigh up the pros and cons
and look for the optimal answer to our needs. Instead we take mental short cuts that mean
we satisfice rather than optimise (i.e. we pick between a repertoire of say 4 satisfactory
solutions and choose between those each time.) A System-1 approach changes a lot about
how we go about marketing and if applied well creates famous brands and successful sales
strategies.
