provide written responses to stimulus material.

Is learning Science anything like what I did in primary school?
It will be an extension of what you learned in primary school – going into topics in more detail. You will
also have the opportunity to carry out a lot more experiments.
Progression after the Junior Cycle
Subject choices available for Senior Cycle include Biology, Chemistry, Phys-Chem and Agricultural
Science.
Career Note
In third level, there are many different types of science courses on offer and many different careers
open to science students. These include becoming a pharmacist, radiographer, doctor, nurse,
dentist, technician, psychologist, physiotherapist, speech therapist, dietician, astronomer,
teacher, vet and researcher. Anyone interested in any healthcare or science related career will
need one if not two senior cycle science subjects and therefore need to have Junior Cert Science.
