Engagement and Wedding Plans
(Summer 1961 - June 2, 1962)
elen and I decided to get married one summer evening while sitting in a car on Maple Grove Avenue, Beamsville,
Hwatching trains go by. We planned our wedding, which took place on June 2, 1962, at Vineland United Church.
Helen’s parents, who had been longtime caretakers of the church, asked that there was to be no confetti at the event as they
would have to clean it up. However, my paternal grandmother, Nellie, secretly brought some to celebrate. Our wedding was
captured on film, and over the years, we transferred it through various formats to preserve those memories.
