2. Radio telephony and communication

2.1 Introduction

This part of the compendium should give you theoretical knowledge necessary

to pass the theory test in communication.

In addition, you will gain knowledge about the rules of communication.

Using appropriate words and terminology is essential for effective

communication and mutual understanding. Notably, unclear language

contributed to one of the largest aviation disasters in history; the Tenerife

incident.

Every time an accident occurs, the circumstances are analyzed thoroughly, and
this has led to many changes in the way instructions and permissions are given

to an aircraft.
