2.4.2 Drawing the route

Let's draw the route onto the map.

We will start at EKHG, which is Herning Airport's ICAO location indicator. All
airports in Denmark that have an ICAO location indicator start their name with

EK, and Herning is of course HG, so EKHG.

Disc is SW, so EKSV. Stauning is actually called West Jutland Airport and is

therefore indicated by EKVJ.

We start the route by flying toIKAST, which is a mandatory reporting point that
you may be asked to fly over.

The reason for flying there first is to finish communication with EKHG and start

communication with Karup.
