The Ramsi Group is one of the market leaders in
distribution sewing machines and spare parts and
allied goods in Southern Africa.
The company was established in December 1980 by
Ram Ramlall and his wife, Lalita. In 2000, Ram and
Lalita were joined by their two sons, Sherwin and
Shawn. The family’s commitment to the company,
as well as their service excellence, has resulted in
constant growth over the years.
This growth resulted in the opening of a new head
office and world class showroom in 2018. The new
office is easily accessible at 31 Florence Nzama Street,
Durban, with parking readily available.
The spacious showroom allows for the effective
display of many of the range of more than 20 industrial
and domestic sewing machines, cutting and steam
equipment on offer. The Ramsi Group are worldwide
owners of the Saito brand, a proudly South African
brand, which was formulated and developed in Durban
and is a registered trademark in South Africa, East Asia
and Africa.
All the Saito domestic electric sewing machine models
have been tested and assessed as being compliant with
South African standards for which letters of authority
have been issued. This ensures that customers are
assured of quality products. The company is an official
distributor for Ricoma, FDM, Schmetz, Rich-X Jegon
and Seco in Southern Africa.
In addition, the office handles over 10 000 spare parts
and accessories, for all makes of sewing machines,
which assures high efficiency and quality after-sales
service. The parts and accessories are sourced from
Germany, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, the United
States, China, Taiwan, Japan, India and Malaysia.
The Ramsi Group also distributes its own brand of
household oil/lubricant.
