Coastlands Hotels and Resorts is KwaZulu-Natal’s
leading innovative hospitality company that prides
itself on four and three-star hotels, restaurants and
conference venues.
The group was founded in 1993, when several
entrepreneurs, including investor and chief executive
officer of the SNG Group Mr Saantha Naidu, acquired
a holiday apartment building on Durban’s Golden Mile.
Coastlands Hotels and Resorts offers corporate
travelers, travel agencies, government departments
and leisure guests, facilities that are managed by top
hoteliers. With the focus on hospitality, this leading
company offers service of only the highest standard.
Hotels
During 2007, the SNG group identified a site on the
popular Ridge Road (now Peter Mokaba Road) in
Musgrave to develop upmarket residential apartments.
However, during the construction phase it was decided
to adapt this building according to the requirements
of a hotel, which then opened as a four-star graded
hotel in November 2009. This boutique hotel boasts
101 bedrooms and has beautiful views of Durban, the
Indian Ocean and Durban Harbour.
One year later, November 2010, saw the launch of
another four-star Coastlands Hotel situated on the
Umhlanga Ridge, a booming corporate and leisure
node. The 4-star hotel boasts 136 bedrooms, which
offer either full sea view or partial sea views and
magnificent views of the surroundings.
In 2015, Coastlands Hotels and Resorts added the
iconic Royal Hotel to its portfolio. With beautiful views
of Durban harbour from its deluxe and executive
rooms, this iconic hotel, known as the “Grand Lady”
offers a total of 206 rooms, two restaurants, and a
coffee shop.
