chair by the doorpost of the LORD’S temple.” (1 Samuel 1:9)
The tabernacle and the temple are the same. The only
difference is that the Tabernacle is used in times of migration;
while, the Temple in time of settlement. The twelve tribes of
Israelites were grouped by centering around the tabernacle in
north, east, south and west.
Our knowledge of the tabernacle is due to the detailed
writings in the Bible. Isn’t it amaz-ing that 50 books (Exodus
13, Leviticus 18, Numbers 13, Deuteronomy 2, Hebrews 4
NIV) in the Bible mention the tabernacle? The will of God
cannot be understood apart from the tabernacle. God’s will
can be grasped through the tabernacle. Jesus can be known
through the tabernacle, as well as the Holy Spirit. The Bible
can be viewed as whole by understanding the tabernacle. The
purpose of Leviticus being included as one of the books in
the Bible can be revealed through the tabernacle. Leviticus
will be completely transformed from its boring image to a
whole new book that will earn your eager attention.
