spiritual lives. Without gaining an understanding of the
tabernacle ritual, an understanding of holiness, purity and of
focusing on God cannot be grasped either.
As mentioned, the Tabernacle includes the courtyard
and tent of meeting. There are vari-ous ritual processes
that take place inside the tabernacle. The most distinctive
process was con-cerning an atonement ritual. One can easily
notice that all the atonement processes are simply related to
‘Cleanliness’.
Temple means a place where God dwells. Its origin takes
shape as a type of tabernacle, but that was replaced by a
temple during the residing period at Canaan. Moses began
the con-struction of the tabernacle through God’s initiative.
And this tabernacle moved about from a place to place until
entering the land of Canaan. Its last stop was at Gilgal.
The route of the tabernacle began with the conquering of
the Castle at Jericho, and at several other places until they
reached Shiloh. Without the need for more travel, a temple
was erected at that location. We will introduce a verse that
tells of its transformation from the taber-nacle to a temple.
“Once when they had finished eating and drinking in
Shiloh, Hannah stood up. Now Eli the priest was sitting on a
