Lilly’s Australian Adventure
Last week I went in an Ambulance for my first time, and drove
about an hour. Later my Dad and I arrived at a small-town
hospital. And I got hooked up to a bunch of cords and I had
a needle go into my hand! I had a really big sleep and when
I woke up dad was on the chair with some chocolate and my
favourite chips!
Later that day, the small town hospital (can’t remember what it
is called) made a decision that I should get scans on my brain to
see what was wrong but they didn’t have that equipment so they
decided to take me to a bigger hospital called the Toowoomba
Base Hospital *TWBH* . So, I went into another Ambulance
and travelled for another hour! We drove to a small airport so
I could go in a plane called the Royal Flying Doctor Service. It
was really good flying in the plane and soon we arrived at the
Toowoomba Base Hospital. I went to bed and the doctor had a
big meeting about what’s going on and turns out I didn’t need a
scan so in the morning I was discharged…
dot which they put a wire thingy on it to see my heart beat.
In Lilly’s own words – here are the captions for the photos!
Editor’s Note: Lilly, our 11-year-old granddaughter, loves writ-
That’s the small aeroplane I went on; my hospital band and a red ing and sharing her stories. We hope she’ll keep entertaining us
with her tales in the future! We’re happy to let you know she is
well and back at school and normal life. Thanks Lilly! Photo of
