      In 1950, the average life expectancy for someone born in this

      country was 62 years. By 1950 that number had climbed to 67. As
      of 2020, that number had climbed to 78. In just the last 20 years,

      that number has grown by four years.
            Life expectancy in the United States has climbed steadily over

            the last century. This chart shows the increase over time.
