Don’t Make Me Say I Told You So xii
hedges, target-date funds, low-cost index funds, annuities,
limited partnerships, and many, many other ways for investors
to reach their goals.
In the search for sage advice or the holy grail of investing
over the last quarter- century, I have read dozens of investment
books. While I have found many of them helpful, and gleaned
a lot of great advice from them, I found many to be mind
numbingly boring. Most investment books have a textbook-feel
about them, and they tend to be extremely dry. While this is
understandable, and sometimes necessary, when discussing
this topic, it tends to be boring and may not serve the purpose of
the book – to educate investors about investing for retirement.
For that reason, I have written this in what I think is a more
engaging and easily understood style. I believe this book will
act as a useful guide toward a prosperous, secure, and relatively
worry-free retirement. I am also convinced that most people, if
they follow my advice, will be better off financially than they
will be by following their current course.
