About Money

Growing up in a family of 10 kids, my early life was dictated
by money, or, rather, a lack of it to some degree. I understood

from a fairly early age that a good deal of our lives was
controlled by money. When I saw my best friends, Tom

and Eddie Brennan, go off on vacation every summer, or
saw other kids go to camp, I knew, or may have asked my

mom, why we couldn’t do that. When we wore hand-me-
down clothing while friends got new shirts or jeans, I understood
