Inflammatory polyps may then regress if the chronic source of irritation
is removed.
The cystotomy is then closed with a single layer of sutures and the
bladder is replaced in the abdominal cavity. The second port site is closed
in layers (external sheath of rectus abdominis muscle, subcutaneous
tissue and skin) and the abdomen is insufflated and finally examined.
The camera port is then removed and the site closed routinely. Lidocaine
patches are applied to the areas around the skin incisions for local anal-
gesia. Following surgery, radiographs should be taken while the animal
remains anaesthetised to ensure that there are no residual calculi. Post-
