•    Withdraw a little more treatment than is required. With the syringe still in the upright

             position, return the excess to the bottle. This normally removes any air bubbles

        •
             If any of the medication spills onto your hands, wash it off immediately

        Common difficulties

        A considerable volume of air enters the syringe when the plunger is withdrawn.

        There are two likely explanations for this:

        •    The tip of the needle is intermittently protruding above the fluid level in the bottle
