N. DRAGON POSTURE (LUNG)
With your right arm in the center, walk the circle (Fig. 400). Make
the Single Change. At its conclusion, as you swing leftward with
your left fool ahead, separate your arms, the left to the left, the
right to the right, until they form a nearly straight line. Your palms
are up as if holding two bowls of water. Your eyes look at your
left index finger, which is in the center of the circle. Let your shoul-
ders droop. Contract your inner thighs and hold your head straight
as if something were balanced on it (Fig. 401). Your waist ac-
companies your left hand. To change directions, simply toe-in
your right foot and make the Single Change, at the conclusion of
which you swing rightward. A variant method is called Two Hands
Uphold Flatly (Shuang Chang P'ing T'o). In this, the palms are about
level with the eyes (Figs. 402-403 show both directions). The same
function as that for Standing Palm Posture obtains (in Huang's
book it is termed Body Turn with Cutting Leg).
