L. LION POSTURE (SZU)
With your right arm in the center, walk the circle (Fig. 384). Make
the Single Change. At its conclusion, as you swing to the left with
your left foot ahead, separate your arms, stretching the left hori-
zontally, palm up, into the center, and carry your right biceps up
near your right ear with the right palm up (Figs. 385-387 show the
posture from three different vantages). Your "tiger mouths" are
aligned diagonally downward, as if you were holding a rod between
them. Continue walking in this way. By twisting your palms down-
ward and lowering your right arm you return to the basic walking
posture. To change directions, simply make the Single Change and
reverse the directions above. The use is in the deflecting right hand
and the shooting left palm. The first part of Sun's Phoenix Posture
is similar to the Lion Posture except that in the former the right
arm, with biceps beside your right ear, has the palm down, simulat-
ing holding a large ball (Fig. 388).
