POLICY: NEW TEAM MEMBER ORIENTATION                                                       Policy #15

              All new team members are given an initial orientation that introduces them to the fundamental
              aspects of program operation and the agency including:

                    Program philosophy, values, and goals;
                    Expectation for ethical conducts
                    Health, safety, and emergency procedures;
                    Individual needs of children they will be teaching/caring for;
                    Accepted guidance and classroom management techniques
                    Daily activities and routines of program
                    Program curriculum
                    Child abuse and neglect reporting procedures
                    Working with diverse families
                    Program policies and procedures
                    NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and
                    DCF licensing requirements

              New hire orientation will help answer any questions regarding the agency and follow up training
              will be available throughout the year to expand on the initial orientation.
