All new team members are given an initial orientation that introduces them to the fundamental
aspects of program operation and the agency including:
Program philosophy, values, and goals;
Expectation for ethical conducts
Health, safety, and emergency procedures;
Individual needs of children they will be teaching/caring for;
Accepted guidance and classroom management techniques
Daily activities and routines of program
Program curriculum
Child abuse and neglect reporting procedures
Working with diverse families
Program policies and procedures
NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and
DCF licensing requirements
New hire orientation will help answer any questions regarding the agency and follow up training
will be available throughout the year to expand on the initial orientation.
