The Community Contributions Program will accept donations from a broad range of goods that
will include clothing up to size youth 10-12, food, shoes, educational toys, books and furniture.
Jack & Jill Children’s Center team member has established these policies to ensure the adequate
administration and distribution of the selected goods in a cost effective and systematic way. The
suitable administration of these donations will maximize strategies to acquire absent resources
that can fulfill families in need in the community.
Jack and Jill Children’s Center Family Strengthening Team will oversee screening and
accepting all in-kind donations. A donation receipt will be filled out prior to accepting
donations. Donations that will not be allowed include: helmets, car seats, stuffed animals, used
undergarments, comforters, and pillows. Acceptable donations will be reported and classified
into categories. Jack & Jill Children’s Center Family Strengthening Team will maintain an in-kind
wish list of items. Accepted gift items received will be distributed to the families in need that
attend the Center. Unneeded items by the organization will be redistributed to the community.
Jack and Jill Children’s Center is a non-profit organization incorporated within the state of
Florida. Please refer to www.irs.gov for tax deductibility guidelines. A monthly inventory report
will be provided by the Family Support Specialist to maintain inventory of outgoing donations.
The Family Strengthening Team will store and secure all donations in the J & J Boutique.
This policy applies to the all team members and donators to the Center.
PROCEDURES TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE
1. All team members are responsible for informing donors on what donations are not
accepted.
2. Once the contributions are received they are to go directly to the J & J Boutique for sorting
and distribution. The “family needs support” located in Procare, will be reviewed to see
if any of the items received are needed by the families.
3. Should a team member wish to accept donations on the organizations behalf, that
individual is responsible for the following steps:
a. Inform the family team and complete the donation receipt.
b. Submit this form to the Family Strengthening Team.
c. The Family Strengthening Team will take a copy of the completed form and enter
into Procare to ensure proper recognition and record keeping.
4. Family team members will review the in-kind wish list with the Family Support Specialist
when new donations are received and need will be based on family assessment and then
items will be distributed.
5. Items not needed by Jack and Jill will be redistributed by the family team members
contacting three local organizations to redistribute: Salvation Army, Goodwill, and
Habitat for Humanity, or any other like organization.
