center. He survived. He was fortunate to survive.

He is fine today, I’m happy to report. Other

motorcycle riders are not always so lucky. Today
he has a lovely family and all his limbs.

You may want to ask yourself if riding a

motorcycle and the thrill of speed is worth losing

your life over. And there are many things that
people engage in that have the ability to end their

dreams with one mistake and in an instant. So

those things are to be avoided.

A shocking fact that I teach my students is

that 13,000 Americans die as a result of tripping

and falling down each year in America. I tell them
to “watch their step” or you might trip or “slip on a

banana peel”. They don’t know what that means

because they have probably never seen a banana
peel on the ground, but when I was a child, they

were very common. Back then people littered more
than today and didn’t pick up after their dogs

either and it was common to “step in it” and get to

clean off your shoe. Gross. I guess you could slip
on that too. Keep those eyes open and “watch your

step.” Recently a friend of mine was injured when

he fell down after slipping on a wet spot his dog
                                                                      41
