customers. Their aim should be long term
sustainability of the destination so that they
can ‗milk‘ the destination for longer period of
time. The local community is the next most
important stakeholder as they are a part of
both the experience of the tourists and the
service that is to be provided to them. The
government through sustainable tourism can
provide more jobs to them without
discriminating on the basis of gender, race,
disability, etc. This will lead to poverty
alleviation and add to the prosperity of the
local community. The role of
environmentalists as stakeholders cannot be
overlooked as they are responsible for
ensuring sustainable practices are being
enforced. Last but not the least the tourists are
also important stakeholders (UNEP WTO,
2005) as they make the wheel go round by
patronizing such destinations for a quality
experience. These various stakeholders can be
seen in the bigger picture as the different
players of a game where the goal is
sustainability and the destination that manages
