spaces will be located throughout their geographical service area and contain hoteling spaces
for employees, a merchandising store, and flexible meeting space.
What initially began as a partnership between Designs for Dignity and FGM to assist the Anixter
Center with the renovation of existing office space has transformed into the renovation of an
entirely different 28,000 square foot building. The Center, which provides service to
developmentally disabled adults throughout Chicago, will acquire a new building to consolidate
services and combine with a neighborhood clinic. FGM is currently assisting in the evaluation of
potential buildings and will lead a study to determine renovation needs. The new space will
provide classroom, office, and meeting space, as well as a clinic with ten exam rooms. The design
is anticipated to be developed in the first half of 2018 leading to a 12-month construction phase.
Beyond the project work, we continue to develop relationships, strategic partnerships, and
expertise through professional organizations focused on corporate real estate and the workplace.
In 2017 we joined CoreNet Global and NAIOP, two of the most respected and active corporate
real estate organizations. In 2018 we have joined working committees of the local chapters and
regularly attend programs in both Chicago and St. Louis. We will continue to
engage the knowledge and collaborative power that these organizations foster to create more
opportunities to grow the practice area.
The growth of the St. Louis market will continue to expand and the corporate practice area is
positioned to play a role in this growth. Annalise Smith and Laura Severine will leverage their
experience, knowledge, and relationships in the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County to create
opportunities and foster new relationships to stimulate growth.
To grow the Corporate Practice Area in 2018 we will continue to develop our strategic partnerships
with consultants, contractors, real estate brokers, and property managers to increase awareness,
promote our expertise and create opportunities to engage with corporate clients. Through
relentless business development, we will continue to expand the FGM brand to develop new
leads, opportunities, and project wins. We will promote our well-building and resilient design
expertise to differentiate FGM from other firms and we will continue to seek strategic hires with
established corporate resumes and clients. These commitments will grow the Corporate Practice
to meaningfully contribute to the balance of revenue across all practice areas and increase the
profitability of the firm, while developing a recognized presence in the corporate workplace.
