DECADE: 1990s - 2220s
Every decade has had its share of devastating storms.
I lived in South Florida in 1992 when Hurricane Andrew devastated South Florida.
In 2005 new Orleans was demolished by Katrina and thousands were displaced.
Terrible stories abound of people in hospitals because there was no electricity, water or
medical attention. Hurricane George just missed the west coast of Florida about the
same year. Hurricane Irma was a bad one in 2017. I had to evacuate to Atlanta with my
dogs for about a week. Every decade has seen bad storms with winds up to 150 miles
an hour, some have even been recorded with wind gusts up to 200 miles an hour.
Houston was flooded in 2018, and North Florida, Mississippi, Alabama and South Texas
have all had their turn.
