Did anyone say "shag carpeting?" In the 1970s shag rugs and carpeting were a
common seen in many American households. The truth is Scandinavians were familiar
with the shag look long before. Scandinavians for centuries used rya knots and loops to
create colorful rugs, bed covers and wall hangings. With this in mind I created my entry
to the 50 Years of Fiber Art exhibit using rya knots to compose an image from the
James Webb Telescope, launched in 2021.
