        Merrimack Valley Chorus (continued)

         Some responses to Chris’ poem:

Chris, Thank you for this... What a beautiful poem. You have inspired me to express some feelings here. I
am also struggling day to day with different emotions. It pains me not being with all of you and truth be
told, I've sometimes found it easier to stay away on Thursday nights and not see the feeling of loss and
disappointment on everyone's faces. But, by doing that I am giving in to this invisible enemy.... I am
allowing it to control my life rather than staying the course and staying close with you all until that day
comes when we will sing together again. I WILL see you all Thursday night,
         …
That was indeed beautiful Chris and also very wise. I was a no-show last week because I was just feeling
out of sorts and as you say, unsettled. Of course, connecting with my MVA sisters instead of dwelling on
things I can't change would have been best, but I just couldn't shake the feeling. The next time I feel that
way, I'm going to lift my spirits by reading your poem and the message in your e-mail. Thank you for the
         inspiration.
         …
Oh, Chris, your poem moved me to tears. Tears I had feared to shed. For if I did I, too, would feel the
pain and loss of our blended voices. But here I sit.... weeping.... faced with the anguish that I had been
         denying myself to comprehend.
While this hurts I thank you for sharing your pain with us, and for guiding me into reality. I can now
honestly and completely understand where you and others are coming from.
I am, however, encouraged by this revelation. It brings to the forefront how important we all are to each
other and how we need to remain connected. Clearly these connections need to come in different forms
other than singing.... for the time being anyway.
Let us all commit, as best we can, to keeping each other buoyant and encouraged. I'm confident that the
women of MVA will find creative ways to reach out and engage each other as we weather this storm
together.... unified in our belief that we will one day joyously raise our voices in song once again.
All my love to all of you.....
         …
Sharing the seesaw, I say a little prayer to keep me focused on how I want the future to be the present,
when coming together with my sisters in song will chase my sadness into the past.

Why not call a Sweet Adelines friend today, and tell her what she means to you?
