Post Road Chorus
Though we all have been challenged by the on-going pandemic, Post Road Chorus in Worcester,
Massachusetts remains a close-knit and supportive group which enjoys not only singing together but
being together virtually, encouraged and supported by its director, Ray.
In the fall, pick-up quartets, with Meg's guidance, learned up to three new holiday songs (and some of
the participants even chose to study a different part than they were used to singing!). The intent was
to assemble quartets for performances, according to who would be in attendance. It was a fun
experience for all who participated, and many of those who hadn’t wished they had!
Pick-up quartets learned Mele Kalikimaka
(the actual quartet for this particular performance is in the front with additional choreo in the back)
February 4th was our semi-annual Friends & Family performance at Briarwood in Worcester, a thank
you performance for allowing us to rehearse in their lovely community room. We sang to a full
house and everyone had a great time listening, singing along, and snacking on delicious member-
made desserts. Our repertoire included many holiday selections since that is what we had learned and
practiced for this event which was originally planned for December but postponed due to poor
weather. Our three new members and one guest who rehearsed with us since the fall were welcome
additional voices.
Our group, like everyone’s, has very much been affected by COVID-19. Proudly, we’ve never
missed a rehearsal, though it has been virtual since March. Karen jumped at the opportunity to keep
us together and researched how we could hold Zoom gatherings, and she continues to host our
weekly rehearsals while supporting anyone who needs technical help.
