                    2 large eggs eggs

                    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
                    2 teaspoons baking soda
                    1 cup hot water

                    ⅔ cup shortening
                    ½ cup white sugar
                    ⅓ cup milk
                    1 tablespoon water
                    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

                    ¼ teaspoon salt
                    ½ cup confectioners' sugar
