will see with their ears (echo-location)! Use material to illustrate this if
possible.
3. God has made people different from other living creatures - review the fact
that he has made us for relationship with him and given us a spirit. He has
given us senses to keep us safe but also so that we can enjoy life with him.
Illustrate this with the sense of sight.
4. Split the class into small groups to consider how a specific sense keeps us
safe from harm and how it can also bring us enjoyment. Allow a short time of
feed-back to cover the main points. If there is time try some relevant
activities. (Part of the worksheet could be filled in now.)
5. There are some wonderful things to see that teach us what God is like. We
can ask the Holy Spirit to help us learn from creation. Can you think of
anything you have seen that has made you think about what God is like?
What we look at affects our hearts and minds, so if we look at good things
our heart and mind will be filled with good.
6. There are also some bad things, which we might see; not things that God has
made, but things that man has made.
Some television programmes try to teach us to do things our way and not
Jesus’ way. They do not think about God, but they just think about people.
This is because of sin.
If we look at bad things what will happen to our hearts and minds?
What can you do to help yourself if you are not sure about what you are
watching? (You can ask the Holy Spirit, and if in doubt, switch it off or
change channels.)
A useful refrain is: BE WISE WITH YOUR EYES!
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. The children should understand that we were made to live in relationship with
God so that we could share his wonderful world with him and get to know him
better through that.
