8. Let the children complete the worksheet. More able children may cut a boat shape but
stick a coin on the corner to represent the cargo on one side of the boat. Using the

plumb-line will show how the boat can tip if it is not loaded evenly.

Learning for Life (Fulfilment)

The children should understand the importance of gravity in balancing objects safely. They
should also know how to make and use a plumb-line, appreciating the spiritual meaning of
God’s plumb-line in our lives as Amos was shown.
