To consolidate Y3 work on conjunctions.

Way to Work (Means)

1. Review previous lessons.

2. Put the following words on the board and ask children to suggest

sentences using them.

3. Talk about these words connecting parts of sentences. They are

called ‘conjunctions’ though they are sometimes known as
‘connectives’.

These words are important otherwise sentences may be too

short. However, it is not good to write very long sentences. Give

examples of long sentences with lots of ‘ands’ and ‘thens’.

4. The children could either write sentences using given

conjunctions or else complete the worksheet.
